Indoril Nerevar vs. Voryn Dagoth by DalSifoDyas Indoril Nerevar vs. Voryn Dagoth by DalSifoDyas
Bought Morrowind (again... for the third or fourth time... I always loose it...) on Steam, and I played the shit out of this game ;). I still love the story about Indoril and Dagoth... and what happened to their friendship.

So I drew this... hope someone likes it~

It's sad, that Bethesda removed possibility to follow Dagoth House because of a limited time for game creation (

Nerevar's looking awfully calm for someone who just got stabbed while trying to kill a trusted friend.

He is wearing his mask, only his eyes give little bit of feeling away. I gave him a normal face at first, with tears and paint and despair, but I had a hard time recognizing him myself, so I have him the mask and helm

Well, to be fair, the only piece of official-ish art he's in has him literally missing his face, so he'd be hard to recognize anyways.

I only know the picture of the Indoril armor, never seen the one he's officially in, can you link it for me?

But yeah, that's the only times we ever get an approximation of his face.

Beautiful! But...

I never believed on it. In my opinion, the Tribunal killed Nerevar, and after the murder Dagoth Ur became mad and fought to take revenge for his friend Nerevar.

His story here:[link]

PS: Sorry for my english! :D

But when you meeting Dagoth Ur as Nerevarine, he said something like - "you wanna betrayed me once again?" However deadly wounded Voryn wasn't angry on his friend and somehow felt what almsivi did with their lord -> REVENGE !!!

As far as I understood, he was heavily wounded while fighting Dagoth and his servants, but survived. To summon Azura, after the fight was over, the Tribunal killed Nerevar. In anger, Azura then gave the Chinmer the Dunmer skin and eyes.

Interesting, i know a different story, Voryn and Indoril where indeed great friends to a point where Indoril named Voryn chief general and second in command of the Chimer armies once they found the heart after being mortally wounded in a long hard battle with Kagrenac's priests Indoril told Voryn to stand guard and let no one take claim of The Heart or tools. Voryn urged his friend to destroy the tools but he didn't listen- its possible Azura appeared to Indoril and ordered the tool's destruction because he raced back to his three advisers warning them the tools where too dangerous and must never be used. He made each of them swear and oath and they would not use the tools then he died shortly after from his wounds but the three now lusting power broke their oath and journeyed to the heart wher they found Voryn still protecting it. They told him Indoril died and to hand over the tools but The Heart had already corrupted Voryn's reasoning (possibly from staying so close to The Heart so long) he believed that Indoril betrayed him and sent the Tribunal to kill him and have all the power to himself so he fought and eventually lost. Azura was enraged at the oath breaking and cursed all Chimer into Dunmer. Everyone thought lord dagoth died but he lay in deep slumber for a long time gathering an army for his revenge, in his mind i think dagoth considered Indoril his real kller.
...sorry, i know its long but i get excited when it comes to morrowind lore;) i guess its one of those stories where no one really knows what happened:/

I'm not sure if Vivec tells you the truth once you're allowed to see him.... I don't know either which version is right. Most likely it's never really explained it the rumors are all that remains.

Indeed, there are at least four different interpretations. One of Ordinators and Vivec, one of Dissenters, one of Dagoth Ur and one of Almalexia (in the expansion "Tribunal"). Bethesda wanted to give a sense of ambiguity.
In my interpretation, Dagoth Ur wanted just avenge his friend Nerevar killing the Tribunal. I remember that at the end he explained that the blight is only a collateral effect, and he didn't control legions of corprus stalker. Do you play "Tribunal"? There you can see the real face of this cult...

Yeah I played Tribunal some years ago, I'm not done with it completely in this recent walk trough. I'm still not sure what happened... but I'm convinced they shared a deep friendship

Blight was created for dunmer's evolution to god-like creatures. Ur didn't care about other races. For them Blight transforming into dreadful desease
